About Kitaba Reading Retreats
The Kitaba Reading Retreat is a true escape from the world. No classes. No learning. Just great company, great food, and nowhere to be, nothing to do, other than relax, read, and have fun.
A curated book list will be provided, and evenings will see lively book chats about the books on the list. No pressure. Just sharing stories, and connecting with other women. In these times where we live with increasing loneliness and isolation, sometimes joy comes from something as simple as find community again, of connecting with other women who share a love of books.
Come to our reading retreat to slow down. To remember to make space for the things that bring us joy, and to rediscover the simple, delicious pleasure of doing something just for ourselves
Part literary escape, mostly relaxation, and perhaps a little coming home to ourselves, Kitaba Rewilding Reading Retreats are for any woman who has ever wanted to turn everything off to just disappear into a book. And because it’s Marrakech, of course there’ll be a little magic along the way.
Go on. Treat yourself. You deserve it.

Who should attend & why?
We welcome every woman who loves books, who longs for a little breathing space, or who dreams of spending time in the company of like-minded women, surrounded by stories, beauty, and the magic of Marrakech.
There is a special alchemy when a group of women gather to share their love of books, to talk about the stories that have shaped them, and to create a community of their own. Kitaba Reading Retreats are not just about reading; they are about rediscovering the pleasure of doing something that is just for us, of making new friends, and giving ourselves permission to finally put ourselves first.
In the magical city of Marrakech, every moment will inspire: reading in the garden, lounging by the pool with a novel, sipping a date martini on the rooftop at sunset gazing out over the Atlas Mountains, and savouring candlelit dinners of tagines, Moroccan salads, and couscous. Mornings might begin with rooftop yoga and breath work as hot air balloons rise above the palm grove, followed by leisurely hours immersed in our books, lively conversations, and wandering through the bustling souks discovering Jane’s secret shopping treasures.
This isn’t just discovering Marrakech; this is discovering Jane’s secret Marrakech, the museums, restaurants, and shops that tourists would never know about. It’s an intimate, insider experience in a city that has inspired Jane’s own love of stories, beauty, and adventure.
You’ll leave with a stack of new books, wonderful memories, and perhaps a whole new collection of caftans. But mostly, you’ll leave feeling rested, inspired, and reconnected with the woman who loves to read, to dream, and to lose herself in a story. And with the magic that happens when a group of women come together to share their love of books, friendship, and community.
